General Investment Accounts

A general investment account (GIA) is a flexible account used to hold a wide range of different investments. It differs from an ISA or a Pension scheme as there is no lifetime limit to how much you can pay in and you can withdraw your funds whenever you want. However, the caveat is you won’t receive the tax benefits you would through an ISA or a Pension Scheme.

Dependent on your circumstances it can be a very tax efficient way of investing and will complement your ISA and pension investments.
