Domiciliary Care

Domiciliary care is broadly classed as assistance with washing, dressing, preparation of meals and general assistance with personal safety and mobility.

Any financial support provided by a Local Authority towards the cost of domiciliary care is means tested and payment of the fees will be the responsibility of the person who goes into care unless their personal capital is below what is known as the Capital Limit. Where there is an element of nursing care required within the overall Care Assessment then there may be a contribution towards the overall cost by the NHS to reflect that.
